A little bit of France
Without a big entry this time:) Just want to share few shots from Paris that I took in April 2010 during my college trip to this amazing city.
I don’t know how I do this thing when I leave pictures untouched for months even years, and then remember about them suddenly with not much of a reason.
I have giga bites of files that I haven’t looked through for soooo long, and since I am looking for a job now = I have a lot of free time I might as well dig out all these forgotten wee memories.
The Beautiful Bride.
My current love afair with wedding photography turned to be stronger than I have expected.
Beautiful friend of mine Michelle (amazing model btw) asked if I would like to take some pictures of her before she left for her I bet amazing wedding in US. No one can see the Bride before her wedding, thus I couldn’t share these beautiful pictures. But since Michelle is a happy Wife now i am so excited to show what an amazing time we had.
We had a crazy day of giggles that’s for sure. I wish I could have photograph Michelle wedding as well, I’m sure it was one gorgeous day!
Thank you Michelle for this great photoshoot. Many Thanks to Jak Morgan for a great great make up.
In preperation for more wedding adventures.
So on this sunny almost tropical Scottish day me and Armands had yet another adventure. We went to visit locations we are going to use on our next wedding photo collaboration. Driving back and forth, as I am rather terrible pilot, running on the fields, jumping on hail bails followed by more driving and getting lost, taking lovely shots and photography talking = Day well spent. Damn you Scotland, you can be a great adventureland!
Edinburgh Cramond Wedding.
On the last weekend of August I had a great pleasure to be a photographer at Ashley+Sean’s wedding. They choose to get married at the beautiful venue of Lothian Chambers Edinburgh, followed by reception at the Cramond. Beautiful day and amazing experience. It was my first ever solo wedding job, and I must say I enjoyed every moment of it.
The truth here is, if someone asked me a few months ago if I would photograph a wedding I would say big capital letters NO. why? i was rather scared:) but as we polish people say ”fear has big eyes”.
To get to know the subject I went and assisted amazing photographer Armands and I must say I fallen in love with weddings. I had a great pleasure to photograph three weddings with him and I just never had so much fun while working. Not only me and Armands work together so well, it was an amazing learning curve for me.
Here is some images from wedding of Ashley and Sean.My first solo wedding job:) Thank you so much for having me that day.
Beauty.
So my may (im two months too late with this post btw:) ended with an amazing photoshoot. I had a pleasure to work with super talented make up artist Sian Lidgate, beautiful model Ciara Howie and great hairdresser Myles Cockburn. It was a rather dramatic day I must say. Sian’s car broke somewhere on a motorway between Glasgow and Edinburgh, but that didn’t stop that brave lady. Despite all the craziness she eventually got into the studio and made Ciara look as beautiful as ever. I couldn’t wish for better pictures from that day. Great work guys. Thank you so much.
xx
In a book.
Long story short, couple of my images made it to a book ” Light & Shoot 50 Fashion Photos” by Chris Gatcum. My work has been featured along many other great photographers including my lovely friend Trish Ward. Yay lady – we made it into a book together:)
It’s a nice feeling especially that these published shots are my very first fashion images.
I want to say big thank you to all folks that have been involved in creating these lovely pictures. Thank you Chris for publishing my work!! xx
Divine.
Back in June lovely Slave Magazine has published one of my editorials. I am very happy that everyone could eventually see the story. I need to say that not everything went as I expected that day.My model cancelled just few hours before the shoot, and if it wasn’t for beautiful Charlie Banks, the day would have been ruined. I couldn’t wish for a better model and better creative team. It was a great pleasure to work with all of you. xx
It has been a while…
It has been a while since i wrote here, far too many days have passed, but im back now ready to share thoughts and images. Not sure where to start as the last two months have been busy and full of good things happening to me.
One of my images got the first prize in Advertising &Fashion category of this years’ BIPP Scottish region competition. I got into a final (student category) with two shots and one of them was the lucky one.
I have also recently graduated from BA course at Stevenson College, which more or less means no more safety net of student loan and all that. Hallo adult life!!
There has been couple of publications of my work, one in a book by Chris Gatcum: ”Light & Shoot: 50 Fashion Photos”, also lovely Slave Magazine decided to publish an editorial of mine. But i shall write about it in a new post
Last days of school.
